Piano Programs at Miami Fine Arts Academy are designed for students from 3 years old to adults. Young beginners (3 to 5) are evaluated for readiness. From the first piano class, we customize a personal program just for you.
What Will I or My Child Learn in a Piano Class?
Starting from the first piano lesson, we customize a personal program for each student based on one’sdevelopmental stage, unique abilities, individual learning styles, and musical goals. Students have a choice in duration of their weekly classes based on teacher’s recommendation and individual personal needs. Students can choose between 30-min., 45-min.. and 60-min. individual weekly classes. Each class contains elements of music theory, piano technique, ear-training, sight-reading, music history, piano solo and piano ensemble performance. Our piano students are introduced to various musical genre, and they play the pieces they love, from Popular to Classics. We give numerous opportunities for our students to perform throughout the year. Many of our events have become a yearly beloved tradition, such as Halloween Carnival, Ensemble Festival, Holiday Sounds and Annual Recital. Performing in these and other recitals is optional, where students make personal decision withtheir teachers and parents which recitals they wish and ready to participate in. Our events are very organized, and they are a lot of fun.
Do I need to have a piano at home to take piano classes?
We take pride in our beautiful facility equipped with acoustical (mostly Steinway & Sons designed) pianos, which are regularly maintained and tuned for your enjoyment during your classes and practicing sessions.
As professionals, we always encourage children and adult students to learn on good acoustical instruments. However, we also understand that purchasing an acoustical piano is a serious financial commitment, and many parents want to give their kids a jump start in music classes before deciding to invest in a piano. In this case, some of our beginning students purchase inexpensive keyboard as a temporary solution. Other students prefer a convenience of a temporary rental program option available at Steinway & Sons Piano Gallery only two blocks away from our Academy (for rental programs, please call Steinway & Sons Piano Gallery at: 305.774.9878). Yet, others come to the Academy to practice before or after their scheduled piano classes. Practicing rooms are free to all our enrolled students.

Do not be nervous; our teachers are very experienced and knowledgeable, and they will help you relax and enjoy your first class. If you are happy with your teacher, proceed to Step Two.
